Coordination of Hearty Lives Inverclyde – NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde

The challenges in improving health within NHSGGC are complex and significant. There is a strong history of partnership working over many years with a host of organisations engaged in health improvement effort. In particular, NHSGGC values the role of the partners, including the voluntary sector who we know to offer significant opportunities for reach and for enabling people to access wider health improvement services and activities.

The poor health and life expectancy of people in our health board area is well documented. One area the Scottish Government, NHSGGC and Inverclyde Community Health and Care Partnership (CHCP) are focusing efforts, relate to prevention of overweight and obesity.

Inverclyde CHCP has been granted a funding package by the British Heart Foundation to deliver the Hearty Lives Initiative. The focus of this venture is to promote healthy lifestyles through tailored services targeted at 16 and 17 year olds, in recognition that current provisions may not meet the needs of this distinct group.

As part of the above program, Inverclyde CHCP seeks to recruit a partner organisation who will oversee the coordination of the program in line with the original project specifications.
