The PSP Advice Service
If you have any questions or queries relating to any element of the PSP model, whether you are just considering creating a PSP or are well into your service design, please contact the PSP advice point service – further information and access points are available here. Or contact David (07919 392 369) or Maylee (07717 450562).

Social Enterprise Register
One of the key areas of the Ready for Business website is the Social Enterprise Register. This offers an effective way to search for information on social enterprise organisations throughout Scotland to, amongst other things, purchase from or collaborate with on tenders. We are in the process of checking the information contained within the Register and are asking organisations to check that the details are valid. If you have any changes to make or need any assistance please contact Tariq.

Tackling Poverty through Public Procurement
In July, Ready for Business hosted the Scottish Launch of the recently published Joseph Rowntree Foundation research “Tackling Poverty through Public Procurement”.  At this event for public sector commissioners and procurement leads & private sector suppliers, the report author, Richard Macfarlane described the opportunity for addressing poverty through public procurement and a range of speakers used case studies to describe the impact of Community Benefit Clauses on disadvantaged communities. To access the report click here.

Ready for Business Workshops
Ready for Business runs free bespoke workshops on a variety of procurement related topics. Our workshops are delivered by experienced advisers and, where appropriate, include contributions from legal experts. Current topics include;

  • Social Value in Commissioning
  • Community Benefit Clauses in Procurement
  • Public Social Partnership model

Formats and timings are flexible but typically workshops are ½ day and can be run for groups of 10 – 30 delegates. All our workshops include a significant level of group work and facilitated discussion and we are happy to discuss content and approach so that the outcomes are appropriate for the group.

If you are interested please contact Roddy Stewart on 0141 425 2914.
