We wish to advise you that local residents/crofters have expressed a desire to investigate the opportunities and viability of a community buyout of the Great Bernera Estate, Western Isles, where an amicable purchase could be negotiated with the current owners who are willing sellers. In order to assist the community in assessing the benefits of community ownership, a feasibility study is required to identify the economic, social and environmental potential of the estate. The group responsible for commissioning this study is the Great Bernera Community Development Group, comprised of 14 residents who live and work in and around the local area.
The Feasibility Study Brief for Consultants has been agreed and is ready for distribution. Should you wish to tender for this commission, we are looking for the submission of consultants’ proposal by 26th September 2014. Please note that programming is vital and that the feasibility must be done by mid January 2015.

Comhairle nan Eilean Siar (CnES – the Western Isles Council) is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified consultant to undertake a feasibility study into the opportunities for establishing a dual-purpose walking/cycling route from Stornoway to Ness.

The creation of two community gardens at 2 separate sites, approximately 1/2 mile apart. The larger site is approximately 70m x 16m. Development of this vacant site will include the formation of raised growing beds and a polytunnel. The 2nd site is approximately 15m x 11m and is currently vacant. An orchard will be created at this site with a small number of raised growing beds. Please note that the project will be primarily funded via Big Lottery’s Community Spaces grant with the balance being met by the Association.

This Framework Agreement CP0178/CORP is for the Supply and Delivery of Printed Material. Supply and Distribution will be throughout the Inverclyde geographical area.
The period of the framework shall be 3rd November 2014 until 2nd November 2015. Inverclyde Council reserves the right, subject to satisfactory provision and Inverclyde Council satisfaction, to extend the framework for a period of up to six months until 30th April 2016.
The approximate value of this framework is approx. £130,000 (1 year + 6 month extension).
During the period of the framework orders may be placed with successful contractor(s) at such times and for such quantities as may be required.
Any award of contract will be based on the most economically advantageous tender(s) based on the award criteria detailed later in this tender.

The purpose is to provide Fresh Fruit and Vegetables, Bakery Products and Eggs to Schools, Social Work establishments, which include Day Care Centres and Homes and to Staff Restaurants in the Scottish Borders, Midlothian, City of Edinburgh, East Lothian and West Lothian.
The main aim is to increase as much as possible the proportion of fresh food that is served in all of these establishments with the overall aim to raise the quality of ingredients used in the preparation of food. We further aim to ensure that they are nutritionally valuable, thereby improving the lifestyle of our pupils and other customers. Through this we are hoping to improve Scotland’s Health Record by helping to reduce obesity, heart disease and diabetes.

sportscotland has developed a new business plan for National Centre Inverclyde to show how it will contribute to sportscotland’s overall strategic ambition of helping to develop a world class system for sport at all levels, by filling key gaps in the current provision of facilities which will help address key needs and opportunities. The plan involves the redevelopment of its residential accommodation and ancillary facilities.
This contract is intended to deliver services during the transition period for the remainder of the Inverclyde site and Cumbrae, i.e. the demolition and rebuild of the Inverclyde accommodation and ancillary services building.
