Callendar Estate is has developed a café and bike hire facility at location off Lochgreen Road, Falkirk. Customers of these facilities make use of an extensive network of paths and cycle trails on the Estate. As part of expanding the range of activities at the location the Estate plan to construct a Mountain Bike Skills Course made up of a berms, rollers, jumps and other technical features. The Estate is seeking a suitably experienced grounds works contractor to construct the skills course in line with designs drawn up by a consultant. The Estate is seeking expressions of interest from contractors who can provide the following pre-conditions. Demonstration of experience through building similar facilities, an ability to commence work on site in July 2015, a commitment to delivering social outcomes through the provision of training opportunities or other local social benefits. The Overall budget for the project is £49,700 exclusive of VAT

The Contract is to commence on 30 November 2015. There is increasing demand for the processing of DMR due to the introduction of a new twin stream collection system which was first introduced to 40,000 households in 2014 and will continue to be rolled out throughout 2015 to approximately 140,000 households. Material collected from on-street Packaging and Paper banks and from Trade Waste customers will also be included and will add to the volume of material being processed.
The Contract will facilitate the Council meeting its commitments to the Scottish Government Zero Waste Plan, the subsequent Waste (Scotland) Regulations 2012 and to assist in increasing recycling rates to 50% and above from 2015 and to 60% by 2020, a provision of the Climate Change (Scotland) Act 2009.
The City of Edinburgh Council wishes to appoint a Contractor to receive and process Recyclable Materials from Kerbside and Communal Collections including Dry Mixed Recyclables (DMR), Glass, Textiles, small Waste Electronic and Electrical Equipment (WEEE)and household batteries, collected from households, on-street recycling banks and commercial premises within the City of Edinburgh Council area.
The Contractor must guarantee that all the materials delivered by the Council under this contract will be re-used or recycled.

The principal aim of this tender document is to commission a Consultant to prepare analysis and lead on the different options for the Options Appraisal process, and successfully complete a business planning process for the acquisition, construction phase and sustainable operation of the final option for ‘The Community Hub’.
The overall aim of the business plan is to underpin the requirements of a Big Lottery funding application, which will be used in conjunction with the final Design Plan for the project. The Consultant would be required to comply with the Capital Grant Checklist 3.
