The Web Conferencing Framework is available for use by all Scottish public (and third) sector organisations. Given on-going adverse weather conditions, travel disruptions and budget constraints the Web Conferencing Services Framework can offer a real time, efficient and green alternative to face-to-face meetings.
The Web Conferencing Framework can help you achieve best Value for Money and savings in terms of reducing travel, accommodation, conference room and services costs. The scope of the framework also includes audio conferencing. The service allows you to share documents and collaborate online with either internal or external parties to your organisation and will allow you to manage your time more effectively, work smarter and save smarter. It can also help reduce your carbon footprint and CO2 emissions is in line with Scotland’s Digital Future: Scottish Public Sector Green ICT Strategy.
It is an easy to use, single supplier framework which offers great value. There is no need for users to reserve a meeting room, book call time or set up complicated equipment. As well as monthly licence models there is also a ‘Pay as you Go’ option which minimises investment to organisations looking to pilot a new way of working
The Scottish Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA) are extensive users of Web Conferencing using the Web Conferencing Services Framework. They comment that:
“As a result of this new, strategic approach that we have applied to the way we do business, SEPA has achieved significant cash savings, time savings and environmental benefits from using web conferencing.
With increasing use of the service we feel that there will be further opportunities to extract benefits and maximise the use of staff time for the good of the organisation our staff and the environment.”
