Stirling Local Food Systems Study – Forth Environment Link

To research our present food system, in the Stirling city and rural areas, that also takes into account how this connects with the neighbouring areas of Clackmannanshire and Falkirk, which comprise the Forth Valley area. The research seeks to provide a baseline of our current food system that will help direct the work of Forth Environment link and will contribute towards and inform the Sustainable Stirling Partnership on its long term food strategy. This research will evaluate current food movement and behaviours between suppliers which will include primary producers (agriculture – land, loch and sea), secondary producers (processing), retailers, community food projects and residents (consumers). Put simply, we want to understand how food moves in and around Stirling and how people move for their food.
