The exhibition will help SME firms find out how to bid for sub-contracts on the City Deal. The agreement includes 20 major infrastructure projects and is set to create around 15,000 construction jobs.
Contractors will be able to meet project teams, the main contractors and network with other firms, in addition to meeting representatives from the Supplier Development Programme (SDP).live streaming film Boyka: Undisputed IV
East Renfrewshire Councillor Tony Buchanan said: “The Glasgow Region City Deal represents £1.13billion worth of opportunities for local companies. Subcontracting work will cover a huge variety of goods and services including construction materials, transport and haulage.
“Businesses further down the supply chain can then bid to provide labour, goods and other services to the subcontractors.
“This event is a tangible reminder of how the economic benefits of major infrastructure projects filter down and create jobs for local people who then spend their wages in local shops.”
Companies which are already registered with the SDP should book their free place by logging in and using the online ticket function on the right of the event page.
Any companies which aren’t eligible to join SDP (i.e. large organisations or those based outside Scotland) may reserve a place by emailing the names of two delegates to firstname.lastname@example.org – a maximum of two places can be booked per organisation.
